An independent school for students in Junior Kindergarten through 8th Grade, Salisbury Academy is preparing the next generation of students to be successful contributors in the 21st century by giving children the opportunity to practice critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, and character.
Our fundamental belief that children learn best when they are actively engaged and challenged has guided teachers and staff in the creation of a rich, child-centered learning environment that uses each student’s successes and setbacks as an avenue to learning.
We believe that the early school years establish the foundation for lifelong intellectual and social growth, awareness of community, and global thinking. Therefore, our thoughtfully charted curriculum is specific and structured, rich with opportunities for creative expression and maximizing “teachable moments”. We utilize the Core Knowledge Sequence to provide a thematic approach that integrates the study of language, math, social studies and science supplemented with Spanish, media (technology and library), art, music and P.E. An after-school program is available for every grade with a variety of offerings available.
We aim to have children leave Salisbury Academy with a strong sense of self and with the ability to think clearly, function well academically, and embrace the challenges beyond high school and college with confidence and resilience in their adult lives.
